Prof. Ing. Jiřina Jílková, CSc.

Jan Evangelista Purkyně University

Prof. Jirina Jilkova is a professor of public policy and administration. Her long-term research interest is environmental economics and ecological policy with the focus on tools for air protection and climate change. Currently, she coordinates numerous (international) research projects and initiatives with the focus on environmental policy and regulatory impact assessment. She has been chairing the Czech Governmental Commission for the Regulatory Impact Assessment and being the member of scientific board in the Czech Republic and Germany. She teaches at the Faculty of Social and Economic Studies of the Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in Usti nad Labem and attended numerous teaching and studying fellowship abroad (Harvard University, University of Zurich). She is a founder of IEEP, Institute for Economic and Environmental policy (1997).

Prof. Ing. Josef Šíma, Ph.D.

CEVRO Institute

Prof. Josef Sima is professor of economics, president of the Cevro Institute [school of legal and social studies], and director of its international MA program – Philosophy, Politics, Economics (PPE). He also serves as president of an interdisciplinary annual conference that has met in Prague since 2005, Prague Conference on Political Economy. Josef translated over 10 books (including Ludwig von Mises’s Human Action, Murray Rothbard’s, Man, Economy and State, or  Milton Friedman’s The Money Mischief) and supervised publication of tens of more. He has published dozens of articles in professional and popular journals, and a number of his own books. His latest book Property, Social Action and the Legal-Economic Nexus will be published by Agenda Publishing in 2018.

Prof. prof. zw. dr hab. Stanisław Korenik

Wroclav University of Economics

Prof. zw. dr hab. Stanisław Korenik is Head of Department of Spatial Economics and Local Government Administration at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Wroclaw University of Economics. He has published several monographs and many articles in scientific journals in Poland and in other countries. He is scientifically focused on the fields of regional development, local development and strategic planning and spatial economics. He also conducts research on urban and metropolitan areas, urban economics and effects of agglomeration economies and foreign linkages on regional economic activities.

Prof. Dr. rer. Pol. Ralph Sonntag

University of Applied Sciences in Dresden

Prof. Dr. Ralph Sonntag is Vice-Rector for Teaching and Study at the University of Applied Sciences in Dresden. Since 2004 he is professor for marketing, especially multimedia marketing, at the Dresden University of Applied Sciences. At the Dresden University of Applied Sciences, he is also the scientific director of the incubator for business start-ups. Previously, Sonntag was a professor at the University of Applied Sciences in Ansbach. After studying business administration in Würzburg, he worked as a research assistant and project manager at the Steinbeis Transfer Center for Corporate Information Management in Dresden. Subsequently, he worked at the consulting firm Diebold (now Detecon) in the area of digital business as well as communications and advertising agencies. His research and work focuses on the investigation of opinion leadership, word of mouth, e-commerce, media planning methods and advertising success research.

Doc. Ing. Jana Soukopová, Ph.D.

Masaryk University in Brno

Jana Soukopová is an Associate Professor at Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic. Her research focuses on local government and public utilities, especially waste management. Her work has been published in the Journal of Environmental Management and Utilities Policy, among others. She is a Head of Sustainability and Circularity Institute at Masaryk University and a Consultant for the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic.

Doc. Mgr. Pavel Raška, Ph.D.

Jan Evangelista Purkyně University

Pavel Raška is associate professor of geography and head of the Department of Geography at UJEP. He studied geography and history at UJEP (M.A. equivalent), physical geography at Masaryk University in Brno (Ph.D.) and obtained habilitation in general geography from the Charles University in Prague. In his current research projects, he addresses the social dimensions of natural hazards and risk reduction, and the landscape dynamics in relation to territorial planning. He is former vice-president of Czech Association of Geomorphologists, member of the Czech Geographical Society, and managing editor of the GeoScape journal.

Doc. Ing. Pavel Kuchař, CSc.

Jan Evangelista Purkyně University

Pavel Kuchař is head of the Department of social work at FSE, guarantor of this study programme and also vice dean for external relations. He is an associate professor of sociology, has been working at the Faculty of social sciences of the Charles University for a long time. His research concentrates on sociology of work and education, labour market and the development of human resources. He also participated in a number of national and international research tasks in this area. He published a monograph Labour market (2007), participated in a number of publications and he is the author of tens of professional articles and sociologic researches.

Doc. Ing. Iveta Stankovičová, Ph.D.

Comenius University in Bratislava

Doc. Ing. Iveta Stankovičová, PhD., is an associate professor at the Faculty of Management (Comenius University in Bratislava), in particular in the Department of Information Systems. To her long-term interests belongs the use of quantitative methods in economics and management. In the scientific research she is focused on the research of poverty and material deprivation, incomes and expenditures of inhabitants in Slovakia and  in the Czech Republic, but also on the use of ICT in companies and households and innovation processes in companies in Slovakia. Since November 2014 she is a president of the Slovak Statistical and Demographical Society and the member of Czech Demographic Society and the Czech Statistical Society. She is a member of many editorial boards of scientific journals (e.g. Forum Statisticum Slovacum, Slovak Statistics and Demography, Statistika: Statistics and Economy Journal) and since 2015 she is also a member of scientific board of polish journal Wiadomości Statystyczne).

Dr. Jan Slavík

Jan Slavík is a vice-dean for science and research at the Faculty of Social and Economic Studies and a senior researcher at the Institute for Economic and Environmental Policy (IEEP) at the Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in Ústí nad Labem. His research interests include the economics of waste, the evaluation of economic and environmental policy instruments, environmental behavior analyses, evaluations of demographic change and its impacts on waste management, and economic aspects of environmental policy in general.

Dr. Petr Hlaváček

Petr Hlaváček is head of Department of Regional Development and Public Administration at the Faculty of Social and Economic Studies. In 2015, he graduated his doctoral studies in the field of Social Geography and Regional Development at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. Its main research is focused on regional development and regional policy, regional economics,  foreign direct investments in Central Europe and regional innovation systems.

Dr. Michaela Jánská

Michaela Jánská has been working as a head of Department of Business at the Faculty of Social and Economic Studies of the J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem since 2009. She is a member of Czech Marketing Association. In her scientific research activity she deals with the impact of marketing mix elements on human behaviour. Nowadays in her articles and monographs she tries to reflect changes in the shopping behaviour of customers in the region, depending on the geographic and demographic segmentation. The author, among other things, deals with interconnection of marketing and geography, as in addition to publications also applies in the teaching process. She currently teaches courses Marketing, Marketing Strategy and Marketing Services.

Mgr. Martin Dolejš

Assistant at Department of Geography at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem with major focus on geoinformatics and geography. Postgradual student of applied landscape ecology at University of Life Sciences in Prague. The research aims spanning from application of geoinformatics in various geographical topics to research of socioeconomic and political driving factors of landscape change in border regions. Member of the project teams concerning urban hydrology,  waste water management, historical geography and landscape ecology at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem.

Dr. Lucie Povolná

Lucie Povolná works as an assistant professor at the J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem at Department of Economics and Management. From 2004 she worked at the Faculty of Production Technologies and Management (FPTM) where she started to devote her science activities to B2B marketing. At the FPTM Lucie participated on EU projects as a finance manager and as a coordinator of an international cooperation “Development of a bachelor programme of the technical studies in Bolivia”. From 2016 she has been working at the Faculty of Social and Economic Studies at the Department of Business Administration. She continues in B2B topics, teaches courses of Marketing and Management. She is a member of Czech Marketing Association.

Dr. Hana Suchánková

PhDr. Hana Suchánková, Ph.D. is the head of the Department of foreign languages at the FSE UJEP. She is in charge of teaching professional foreign languages for all study programmes and specializations, as well as special courses aimed at business conversation and correspondence, intercultural communication or preparation for CEFR exams. Her research concentrates on acquiring professional vocabulary, syllabus design and developing intercultural competence.

Dr. Vladan Hruška

Dr Vladan Hruška specialises in Rural Geography and Regional Development. In his research he is focusing on transformation of rural space and their economic perspectives in the context of the diminishing importance of agriculture and rapid implementation of space-shrinking technologies. More concretely, he investigates the importance of manufacturing and non-tourism services for rural areas, rural entrepreneurship and implementation of principles of local economies in the post-socialist rural space. Between 2014-2015 he was the project leader of the international consortium of 4 research institutes and universities from the Central Europe within the research project Non-agricultural and non-tourism economic industries in rural peripheries of the Visegrad countries.

Dr. Jitka Laštovková

Mgr. Jitka Laštovková, Ph.D. (born 1976) studied sociology at Masaryk University in Brno and ethnology at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen. She teaches sociological topics and methods of social research at J. E. Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. She also works as a military sociologist on Ministry of defence, where she participates in empirical research and lecturing.

Dr. Marta Žambochová

Marta Žambochová has been working as an assistant professor at the Department of Mathematics and Informatics at the Faculty of Social and Economic Studies of the J. E. Purkyne University in Ústí nad Labem since 2004. She is a member of the Czech Statistical Society. In her scientific research activity she deals with data classification and computational statistics. Nowadays in her articles and monographs she deals with statistical algorithms for market segmentation and customer segmentation as well as market research. The author focuses on applying statistical and quantitative methods to social sciences both in her scientific research and teaching practice. Ath the faculty she currently teaches courses of Statistics and Informatics.

Mgr. Jitka Ježková

Jitka Ježková is responsible for International and Public Relations at the Faculty of Social and Economic Studies. She organises various events at the Faculty – from the music festival at the beginning of every academic year to academic events as the Seder conference. She is in daily contact with international partners and students too.

Ing. Lucie Horáčková

Lucie Horáčková has worked as an assistant since 2016 and since 2018 as an assistant professor at the Department of Finance and Accounting at the Faculty of Social and Economic Studies of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. Since 2017, she has been studying within the PhD programme Applied Economics and Administration at this Faculty. The authoress’ teaching activities are related to the area of public finances, specifically focusing on tax theory and practice. As a part of her research activities, she focuses on the issue of territorial budgets and environmental taxes.
